Account & Data Deletion

Delete only what you mean to delete.

Your Ottie account, private on-device history, and App Store subscription are separate. Ottie keeps those choices separate so one action does not unexpectedly destroy data or continue billing.

Ottie presenting your choices

Important

Deleting an Ottie account does not automatically erase local history from your iPhone and does not cancel an App Store subscription. Review all three choices below.

Delete your Ottie account

  1. Open Ottie and go to Settings.
  2. Choose Account and Ottie access.
  3. Choose Delete Ottie Account.
  4. Review any active-subscription warning.
  5. If asked, reauthenticate with Apple and confirm deletion.

The deletion request removes the account data Ottie controls, including sign-in sessions, service-usage records, connected-service access, and Ottie’s subscription-status record. Ottie also revokes its Sign in with Apple authorization.

If an App Store subscription may still be active, Ottie keeps one separate, billing-only recovery record. It contains limited subscription and account-linking identifiers. It does not contain your profile, health, nutrition, workout, location, or conversation data. Ottie uses it only to prevent another account from claiming the subscription and to reconnect eligible subscription access if you return with the same verified Apple identity and Apple verifies the subscription.

A recovery record may be retained while the subscription could remain active and generally for 180 days after Apple reports that it ended. A longer initial window may apply when Apple status notices are delayed. Limited transaction-integrity, security, fraud-prevention, tax, or legal records may also be retained where necessary. None of these records is used for advertising.

If you cannot access the app, email support@ottieai.com for help. Support may ask for the non-sensitive Ottie Account ID shown on the account screen and will never ask for your Apple password.

Erase local history from your iPhone

Local food logs, workouts, goals, progress, preferences, saved items, and plans normally remain on your device even after signing out or deleting an account. Use Ottie’s separate Erase Local Data action in Settings when you want to remove that history.

Local erasure is destructive and cannot be undone unless you created a valid backup first. Health data previously written to Apple Health is controlled separately through Apple Health.

Manage or cancel Ottie Plus

Apple, not Ottie, controls App Store billing. Before or after deleting an account, open App Store subscription settings to view or cancel monthly or annual Ottie Plus.

Deleting your account, signing out, or uninstalling Ottie does not cancel an active subscription. Apple’s cancellation and refund rules apply.

What happens if you return

Signing in again after account deletion creates a new Ottie account. Local data that you did not erase may still be present on the device. Ottie can securely reconnect eligible App Store subscription access only when you use the same Sign in with Apple identity and Apple verifies the subscription. A different identity cannot claim that billing record. Restoring also requires the Apple Account that purchased or received the subscription through Family Sharing.
